Description
I lived in a log house with blue board and batten and apple trees with a vegetable garden and hay bales and corn fields for over 20 years.
This was a painting on wood that sold and has so much meaning within it. I have enhanced it digitally with photography and computer to alter and offer at a larger size on home decor and gift items.
The black dog is named Lucy. The kids playing are my kids and the neighbour house really exists. I used to make quilts so they are hanging outside on the line. I had painted the mailbox at the end of the driveway and there it is...
The dogs and wolves would eat the apples. I have six apple trees there. One is split a bit as there were originally six of us and now only five.
The bumblebee is flying towards the viewer. But the country road draws you in to our home.
Fresh flowers in the windowboxes and lace curtains on the windows.
Welcome to my home. My favourite place. I miss it every day but imagine it is still so beautiful with the Fall colours and smell of the hay and leaves changing and crisp mornings.
Maybe this will help you remember too ;)
Those yesterdays at Grandmother's farm or mother's quilts and sister's apple pies and needlepoint pillows, lace curtains and cross stitch, hooked rugs and the smell of pine needles and lavender
That was my house. And don't forget those fresh green beans from the garden ;)
