Description
The Danish capital of Copenhagen is a great place to visit at any time of the year, but for me it is particularly appealing around the festive season. The Tivoli Gardens are a Winter Wonderland filled with everything fun associated with the holiday season. Across the road from one entrance, just outside the Town Hall (Rathaus) the imposing figure of the Danish King of the fairy tale himself.....Hans Christian Andersen has sat watching over the visitors to Tivoli since 1965. Cast in bronze, he has a couple of shiny, well handled knees from all the visitors to Copenhagen rubbing them for good luck! I wonder if he's saying to himself as he sits there observing the crowds of revellers enjoying the city and listening to the excited screams from the brave ones on the white knuckle rides .... 'Life Itself is the Most Wonderful Fairy Tale'!!
