Description
I Corinthian 13:4-8 “Love is patient; love is kind; it does not envy; it does not boast.
It is not proud; it is not rude; it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
The wedding piece depicts a couple holding hands which sealed the marriage vows in medieval times. She is also holding a sprig of evergreen myrtle, symbol of eternal love and fidelity. A pair of turtle doves refers to purification and loyalty in marriage. The iris and lily are also flowers which symbolize purity and preservation. The rose without thorns grew in Paradise before the Fall representing the redeeming nature of Christian love. The poppy is the flower of joy, fertility and extravagant love.
